LAMLA
How LAMLA works
LAMLA is One2One's AI study companion. It explains school topics, quizzes you, and helps you plan revision. This page explains in plain words where its answers come from, what it can get wrong, and who can see your chats.

What LAMLA is, and what it isn't
- A study helper for Senior High School and NSMQ topics. It explains, asks practice questions, and helps you plan.
- Not a teacher, examiner, doctor, or counsellor. It doesn't replace your teachers, textbooks, or tutors.
- It won't help anyone cheat in a live exam.
Where its answers come from
- Ghana's SHS curriculum: Learner materials published by the Ministry of Education at curriculumresources.edu.gh.
- Your One2One courses: Lesson materials from courses you have enrolled in.
- NSMQ practice bank: A compiled bank of NSMQ-style practice questions and facts. One2One is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) or its organisers.
- What you share: Links, files, photos, or voice notes you send in a chat.
- Teaching examples: Web pages and YouTube lessons it looks up to find a clearer way to explain a topic.
- General knowledge: What the AI model already knows, when none of the above covers your question.
When LAMLA uses a curriculum or course source, it shows it as a small source chip under the reply so you can check it yourself.
What it can get wrong
- AI can sound confident and still be wrong, especially with calculations, dates, names, and recent events.
- It can misread a blurry photo or an unclear voice note.
- Its answers may not match exactly how your teacher or WAEC marks a question.
Check important answers against your textbook, your teacher, or the source chip. If LAMLA gives you a wrong or harmful answer, tell us at hello@one2one.cc or on WhatsApp at 0591186405.
Which AI system processes your chats
- Chat: LAMLA runs on OpenAI's GPT-4.1 mini model through OpenAI's API. Your message, plus the study context LAMLA needs to answer (like your course and weak topics), is sent to OpenAI to write the reply.
- Voice: Voice notes are turned into text by OpenAI. Spoken replies are created by OpenAI or ElevenLabs from the reply text.
- Web lookups: When LAMLA searches for teaching examples, only a short search phrase about the topic goes to the search provider, not your name or your chat.
Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API isn't used to train OpenAI's models by default. One2One never sells your chats.
Who can see your chats
- You: Your LAMLA chats are saved to your account so you can pick up where you left off. Our database only lets your account read them.
- Files you send: Photos, PDFs, and clips are stored privately in your account and opened only through short-lived links.
- Not other learners or tutors: Nothing you say to LAMLA appears on Softbooks, your profile, or your One2One Card.
- The One2One team: We don't read your chats. We only look at a conversation if it's reported to us for a safety problem, or if the law requires it. Our admin dashboard shows only the total number of messages.
- What LAMLA remembers: Your weak topics, progress, study plan, and preferences, so it can personalise help. This stays private to your account.
- What LAMLA learns: When it finds a better way to teach a topic, it saves a general teaching note (for example, a clear way to explain moles). It never saves your name or your messages there.
Don't send passwords, Mobile Money PINs, or other people's personal details to LAMLA.
What parents and teachers can see
- Parents, guardians, teachers, and tutors can't see LAMLA chats in the app. Only the student can.
- A parent or guardian can contact us at hello@one2one.cc or on WhatsApp at 0591186405 to request a copy of their child's data or ask us to delete it. We check that you are the parent or guardian first.
Extra protections for learners under 18
If a learner tells us they are 13–17, or hasn't told us their age yet, LAMLA follows extra safety rules:
- Age-appropriate answers only.
- It never asks for an address, school location, phone number, photos, passwords, or Mobile Money details.
- It never suggests meeting in person or moving the conversation to another app.
- If a learner mentions being hurt, threatened, or thinking about self-harm, it encourages them to tell a trusted adult and gives Ghana's emergency number, 112.
Keeping and deleting your chats
- We keep your LAMLA chats while your account is active.
- Deleting your account deletes your LAMLA chats, the files you sent, and what LAMLA remembers about you. Go to Settings → Account → Delete account, or contact us.
